Training of Seed Collection Experts
from Four Central Asian Countries
BGSV collaborates with four Central Asian countries (Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan) on various cooperative projects, such as collecting and conserving wild plant seeds. Additionally, BGSV is conducting diverse training programs, including plant collection, seed collection, seed storage, and management of passport data, to train local experts. Furthermore, BGSV has published and distributed the 'Field Manual for Collecting Seeds of Wild Plants in Central Asia (Eng/Rus)' to the respective countries. Currently, BGSV stores 3,098 seed accessions collected from 1,191 plant species in Central Asia, and actively collaborates for the ongoing conservation of wild plant seeds in this region.
